In 2025, we transitioned into a Community Interest Company (CIC), solidifying our vision and mission to enhance the community of Williton and West Somerset.
What is a Community Interest Company (CIC)?
A CIC is a specialised type of business designed for social enterprises that focus on benefiting the community rather than generating profits for stakeholders. Instead, profits are reinvested to help the business grow and directly support their community-focused mission.
Why it matters
Hayley's CIC has always prioritised the community. We started as an online platform for women's fashion sales, breaking down barriers to sustainable, affordable fashion. Over time, we expanded and opened a location in Williton, featuring a boutique with affordable women's fashion and art, and hosting various arts and crafts workshops and well-being groups. Becoming a Community Interest Company enables us to continue growing because when we grow, our community thrives!
What Hayley's CIC brings to the community
Somerset is one of the most rural counties in England, and while the scenery is stunning, it comes with challenges. From social isolation, unreliable public transport, fuel poverty, and economic inequality, Hayley's CIC aims to alleviate some of these issues.
Hayley's Boutique offers a diverse selection of gently used women's fashion, ranging from size 8-30, at affordable prices, increasing access to clothing in West Somerset. In addition to clothing access, Hayley's Boutique provides opportunities to donate your clothes, and as a thank you, we offer 20% off your next six items purchased and a voucher to spend. Donating clothing and buying preloved items contribute to building a healthier and more sustainable planet for everyone to enjoy.

The therapeutic benefits of arts and crafts are well-documented, including stress reduction, improved mental health, emotional expression, and social connection. Activities requiring focus, such as drawing intricate patterns or following a knitting pattern, enhance concentration and fine motor skills. These activities can also stimulate the brain, encouraging neuroplasticity, which is the brain's ability to adapt and change. Hayley's CIC offers local artists and crafters the chance to hire the craft table for only £10, providing local people with access to exclusive and affordable craft workshops.

Lastly, our Wellbeing Groups are designed to enhance social interaction and offer our community a welcoming and accepting space. All our groups include a warm cup of tea and a biscuit!

Get involved
If you find our community focus inspiring and want to get involved, we would love to hear from you! We have opportunities available to volunteer in our boutique, connect with our community, and make a positive impact in Williton, West Somerset, and the world.
